If you don’t know me already, let me provide a quick introduction to myself and cover some of my basic coaching philosophy.
I am Dennis Jackson, This fall I will celebrate 21 years of marriage to my awesome wife Erin. We have 4 kids. Trey, our oldest, plays for FC Dallas 01B West Red and has played the last 3 years at CHHS and will be starting his Senior year this fall. Nate is next oldest, He plays FC Dallas 03B Central White, and will be looking to make the CHHS Varsity Team this fall as a Sophmore. My Daughter Kat plays on this team and attends the Stem Academy at GMS. And our youngest Lucas is 2 1/2 years old and will no doubt be the best soccer player of the bunch, as the older brothers have already begun his training.
I have played for 30+ years and coached for at least the last 10. My wife and I have played Coed and I have at points in the recent past played on 3 teams at the same time.
I hold a USSF D License (as well as an E and F of course).
We also have had season tickets to FC Dallas since 2010.
So you can say we love soccer.
And that is my main goal as a coach, for this to be an enjoyable positive experience that keeps them loving soccer. If you were with me last year you already know I am not concerned about wins and losses, you can’t always control that and sometimes it is just plain luck. But I care that the players are getting better and stronger and learning. We ensure that with well thought out and interactive practices that keep your players trying a new technique and avoid having them either stand or sit watching others. A well-run practice at this age is way more important than the games to develop solid fundamentals. And having a comfort in your skills is what allows you to relax and enjoy the game and your teammates.
